Marcus Whinney – Vecna timelapse
Marcus Whinney, Character Artist, and Texture TD. He shows in his timelapse his process and different techniques when sculpting a Vecna from Stranger Things. In this video, you can follow along at a fast pace with how he creates this Character.
He uses Maxon ZBrush for sculpting. He starts with a Basemesh and dynamesh it, then he begins adding the larger shapes. He focuses on the silhouette and adds secondary forms, finally adding detail. He uses ZBrush PolyPainting and renders with ZBrush’s own render and finally he composite the different AOV’s in photoshop.
