The Mecha War Challenge – The Champions
The Mecha War Challenge has ended, it was a pleasure for us to see your progress and the effort you put in your creations. It has been a very even contest for the second and third place. But we had a clear winner after half of the votes added from moderators and Judges.
We hope you see this type of contest as a learning experience. It’s difficult to make Droids, Mechas and different types of Robots. It takes time, as there is a complex process with details and forms to create a believable, near functional look-alike Mechas as 3D Concept Art.
The prizes you got here, thanks to our sponsors are a big bonus to get your career started or punch it even further. Thanks to this types of challenges, we and our sponsors, we can bring you better possibilities to boost your career and have the right access to tools that will help you out in the future.
Keep in mind that the effort you put in your visions will pay off. We have seen an incredible development in all you artist that were part of this challenge. And you made it, you reached some of your goals and delivered. We want to thank you, fellow artists, for being part of this community and for making 3D Concept Art Community even better for each day.
We want to thank you all followers, likers and fellow members for keeping this wheel running. As well our Judges, Riyahd Cassiem, Justin Goby Fields and Lee Souder for contributing and helping us out sharing the challenge. Also, we would thank all of our sponsors for this challenge, for their kindness and their support.
Thank you, Allegorithmic, Redshift, Quixel, Topogun, GameTextures, Escape Motions, Hyperfocal, Texture Pilot, Corona Renderer, 3D-Coat, HDRI-Hub, Unfold3D and finally Luxion. Mods and Judge’s comment and advice:
Amazing work everything is perfect all around. The way the Mechs are posed bring the image to life. – Lee Souder
Hooman has done a great job at creating a convincing scene from the concept, with good attention to detail and a well balanced design. Well done. – Riyahd Cassiem
Love the colors and I want to know more about these characters – Justin Goby Fields
I find this one the best entry among the overall categories. There’s a very clever way of taking advantage of one model, making three different characters with different tasks inside the group (the one with the cape is great). Also, weapon differenciation is a plus. Texturing and modeling are really well developed.
Besides this, the composition and atmosphere are really well achieved, giving a great video-game intro feel, telling a story. – Juan Luis Mayen ( Winner of the Creatures Vs Humanoid Challenge)
Great work! His foundation and attention to detail made this possible, for sure studying robotics, finding right mood, attention to colour and anatomy made this piece of art possible. The colours and the background melts into an awesome experience. A well deserved first place. – Felipe Chamorro
Mods and Judge’s comment and advice:
The torso area is my favorite and the forms flow very well. Since the color palette is strong the Mech feels very functional. Also it is nice to see material break ups with the mesh cables. – Lee Souder

Angels work have a good sense of design and composition that have been well executed. – Riyahd Cassiem
Great design sense – Justin Goby Fields
Very cool, a somewhat tough and robust Mech that is well implemented with the background and also has the attributes that you could expect of a Robot at first glance. – Felipe Chamorro
Mods and Judge’s comment and advice:
Interesting proportions and use of negative space! – Lee Souder
A very nice work telling a story with a nice sense of movement. – Felipe Chamorro
